ROLLA, Mo. - The Truman State University men's swimming team was on the road to face Missouri S&T on Friday night and the Miners topped the Bulldogs with a final score of 138.5 to 65.5 inside the S&T Pool.
The Purple and White took home a pair of victories in the 200 fly and the 400 free relay.
Will Shanel tied for first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:52.97 while the team of
Lliot Gieseke,
Austin Baker,
JT Thayer, and
Sam Heveroh won the 400 free relay with a time of 3:13.65.
As for Truman's second-place finishes, all four of them came in freestyle events. Thayer was runner up in both the 500 free (4:47.80) and 1,000 free (9:56.86) while Heveroh placed second in the 100 free (46.52). The team of

Caleb Kruse,
Jack McCormick,
Riley Olson finished second in the 400 free relay as well (3:17.85).
Next up, both the men and women will be at Washington-St. Louis on Saturday with the action set to begin at 1 p.m. inside I.E. Millstone Pool.
