PREVIEW: Truman Hits the Road to Finish Regular Season

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State University men's soccer team will look to finish the 2018 regular season with a three-match winning streak as it hits the road for three games in six days. The Bulldogs will face McKendree on Friday, Illinois Springfield on Sunday and William Jewell the following Wednesday.

Starting with the Bearcats (8-4-1, 6-3-1 GLVC), they are currently part of a five-way tie for third in the league along with Indianapolis, Maryville, Bellarmine, and Quincy. They've won two matches in a row since a three-game losing streak and only one of their four losses came at home. The Bulldogs defeated the Bearcats last season, 1-0, also in Lebanon.

Next up, the Prairie Stars (7-4-3, 6-2-2 GLVC) are in sole possession of second place in the conference at the moment. UIS is currently on a four-match unbeaten streak and has only given up one goal in that span when it tied with Drury, 1-1. Last season, Truman hosted Illinois Springfield in its second GLVC match of the year, but fell by a score of 2-1.

The Cardinals (5-9, 2-8 GLVC) are currently last in the conference, but just snapped a four-match losing streak by winning at home against Lewis, 3-2. Truman also beat William Jewell last season by a score of 3-2 at Bulldog Soccer Park.

This past week, the Bulldogs knocked off No. 15 Indianapolis, 3-2, on Friday before falling to Bellarmine on Sunday's Senior Day, 2-0. In those two matches, freshman, Roy Hart, made his first two career starts with 10 saves on 30 shots faced before leaving with an injury against the Knights.

GLVCSN coverage and live stats' links for all three matches will be available right here at TrumanBulldogs.com.
