KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State University men's soccer team will look to bounce back from a pair of shutout losses this past week at Rockhurst (3-0) and Quincy (4-0). The Bulldogs will travel to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. start before hosting Maryville on Sunday with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m.
When looking at the GLVC standings, the Tritons and Saints are both in the middle of the pack at eighth and seventh, respectively. Missouri-St. Louis is 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the league while Maryville is 3-2-2 on the season including 2-1-1 in conference action. The Bulldogs trail the Tritons by one in their all-time series, 17-18-5, but are up two in the Saints' series, 7-5-1.
Missouri-St. Louis won its season opener before dropping three in a row including the GLVC opener vs. No. 11 Indianapolis. Since then, the Tritons have won two of three, but sit one game below the .500 mark. Meanwhile, Maryville has won two in a row and three of its last five with a fourth match ending in a tie.
Individually for the Bulldogs,
Matt Yankowitz is still tied for seventh in the GLVC in goals scored with four. Among the league's leaders, Yankowitz is also tied for fourth in points per game with 1.43 and seventh in goals per game with .571.
