KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Sunday afternoon, the Truman State University men's soccer team hosted Maryville and the Saints defeated the Bulldogs, 4-0, with goals in the 48th, 66th, 72nd, and 84th minutes.
Truman is now 2-4-3 overall and 0-4-2 in GLVC play while Maryville improved to 5-2-2 on the season including 4-1-1 in league action.
The Bulldogs held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-2, while out-shooting the Saints, 15-13, but fell behind in shots on goal, 10-6.
Michael Ruzicka tallied four of Truman's shot attempts while
Tristyn Hasmer and
Thomas Bean (pictured) each had three. The Bulldogs' six shots on target came from
Trevor Kaufmann (2),
Danny Alter (1), Ruzicka (1),
Max Sengl (1), and Bean (1).
Jacob Gunn made six saves before giving way to
Roy Hart for the final minute and change.
Next up, Truman will be at Drury on Friday with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m.
