RECAP: Galluzzo and Heveroh Finish Competition at NCAA Championships

The Truman State University men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up their four-day stay at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships with a pair of events on Saturday. On the women's side, Natalie Galluzzo represented the Bulldogs in the 200 breast while Sam Heveroh did so in the 100 free for the men.

For the sophomore, Galluzzo, in the 200 breast, she qualified for the consolation final with a 14th-place showing in the prelims (2:17.06) before winning it in ninth place with a time of 2:15.05. Heveroh competed in his final event as a Bulldog and touched the wall in 29th for the 100 free as he was clocked at 44.78. Overall, the women tied for 26th with 21 points and the men tied for 31st with four points.

"We had some ups and downs at the meet, but we are incredibly proud of all of our qualifiers and their performances this week," said head coach, Jerod Simek. We are walking away from Nationals with some All-American honors and some solid swims in a very competitive meet! We look to improve on our finishes and already have our goals set for next season!"
