Brian Edell had a double and scored in the second and Ethan Kleinheider walked and scored on an RBI single by Reid Wilson in the third for a 2-0 lead.

Truman sent nine hitters to the plate in the fourth with Steven Bradbury driving in two of the four runs on single to left.

McKendree got through in the fifth scoring three times and knocking starter Connor McKenna out of the game. Josh Woodmansee got the final two outs with two runners on base.

The teams exchanged runs in the sixth with Adam Cox homering for McKendree and Evan Kayser doubling with Bradbury bringing him in on a hit to right center.

King singled in a run in the seventh but the Bearcats got out of the jam by turning a double play to end the inning with the bases loaded.

McKendree threatened in the ninth as the first two reached. Jacob Mertz struck out Corey Chambliss for the first out but Dan Davis summoned King from centerfield to attempt the save. King got his first out on a strikeout but then allowed a double to bring up the tying run. King got Cox swinging to end the game.
