RECAP: Truman Takes Series Finale 7-1 Over William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. – Caleb Buehrle pitched eight shutout innings and Evan Kayser provided the power as the Truman Bulldogs took the third game of their three-game series with William Jewell by a score of 7-1 on Tuesday in Liberty.
 
Buehrle struck out five and walked two while allowing only four hits in his eight innings of work. He allowed his first hit in the third but didn't allow the second one until the sixth.
 
Adam Stolley and Ethan Kleinheider got Truman on the board in the second with each picking up RBIs.
 
Brian Edell brought in two more in the third that was aided by an error by the Cardinal second baseman.
 
In the fifth, Stolly doubled in Holden Missey and Kayser got into the act with a two-run homer to left in the sixth.
 
Jewell scratched across a sac fly run in the ninth to break the shutout.
 
The win was coaching victory 199 for Head Coach Dan Davis.
 
The Bulldogs will return to the Kansas City area over the weekend with a three-game series against Rockhurst starting at Saturday with a doubleheader.
