Box Score

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Baseball team turned the tables on the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds with 11 runs over a two inning span and kept the 'Hounds out of reach with a four-run seventh in Truman's 15-10 series finale victory on Saturday.

The Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 at once again UINDY used the long ball to get on top. Isaac Bair hit the team's 16th home run of the series in the top of the first to strike first.

The Bulldogs put up their own crooked number in the fourth. A leadoff walk and a double by Steven Bradbury brought up Kory Carter with one out. Carter singled in the first run of the inning and that started a string of seven straight Bulldogs to reach base. Evan Kayser knocked in the final two with an RBI single to left to put Truman up 7-3.

Truman started the hitting machine again in the fourth with Carter starting things with a single to center. Adam Stolley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Holden Missey followed with a two-run single up the middle to make it 10-3. Steven Bradbury added a sac fly to score Stolley for the final run.

UINDY chipped away. They picked up a two-run homer in the sixth and scored three times in the seventh to close the gap to 11-8.

The Bulldogs countered in the bottom of the seventh. The first two walked and a perfect bunt by Bradbury loaded the bases. Brian Edell hit a ball to the drawn in infield but the throw sailed wide allowing two runners to score. The next two Truman hitters struck out but Jack Goodwin laced a doubled down the right field line to score two more and make it 15-8.

The Greyhounds scored two more on sac flies in the eighth before Mason King closed the door with a scoreless ninth inning after moving from center to the hill.

Carter went 3-for-6 while Stolley, Missey, Bradbury and Goodwin each had a pair of hits.

Rian Markes picked up the win after going six innings.

Truman will finish the regular season on the road the next two weekends. Next week they will be in St. Louis to face Maryville University.
