ST. LOUIS –  Maryville University bested the Truman Baseball team by scores of 19-9 and 14-3 in a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference games on Saturday. The two teams will conclude their weekend series with a single game at noon on Sunday.

Adam Stolley drove in six runs for the Bulldogs in the doubleheader with a two-run home run in game one and a three-run shot in game two.

Game 1 Recap:
Mason King and Steven Bradbury each went 3-for-3 while Adam Stolley drove in three runs but a huge outburst in the early innings gave the Maryvile Saints a 19-9 win in the opener.

The Bulldogs led 3-1 after Bradbury doubled to start the second frame. Jack Goodwin got the RBI single to tie the game and King was hit by a pitch with the sacks jammed to bring home the second run. Stolley drove in the third run on a fielder's choice.

Maryville struck back in their half of the second by sending 14 hitters to the plate, scoring eight times on nine hits. They increased their lead to 10-3 with a sac fly RBI in the third.

The Bulldogs got back with three runs in the fifth with Stolley homering to right after King drew a leadoff walk. Goodwin drove in the third run on a groundout to short.

The Saints cancelled out Truman's three with three of their own in the fifth.

The Bulldogs followed suit with three more in the sixth. Evan Kayser singled in a pair and Bradbury brought in Stolley with a single to left.

However, Maryville one-upped Truman with four runs in their half of the sixth and scored twice in the eighth to end the game 19-9.

Game 2 Recap:
The Bulldogs fell behind 7-0 after Maryville scored six in the first and another in the third before taking game two 14-3.

Adam Stolley connected on his second home run of the day when he belted a 1-2 pitch over the right field fence with two runners on in the fifth to cut the Maryville lead to 7-3.

Like in game one, Maryville quickly responded with three of their own in their half of the fifth and ended the game with four runs in the seventh.
