RECAP: Panthers Earn Sweep Over Bulldog Baseball

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – After trading three runs in the first inning, the Drury Panthers pulled away to take the series over the Truman Baseball team with a 14-7 final in game three.
 
Drury jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Bulldogs battled back with three of their own in their half of the first. Mason King led off with a walk and scored on a double by Reid Wilson. A failed pickoff allowed Wilson to cross the plate and Holden Missey scored on an infield single by Steven Bradbury.
 
The Panthers added two runs in the second and third innings to go up 7-3.
 
Missey reached on an error in the third and later scored on Brian Edell's RBI single to right.
 
Truman got back to within two with a three-run fifth. Missey led off with his first Truman home run over the left field fence. Edell later doubled to put runners in scoring position for Landon Hamm. The freshman got an RBI single to left and Adam Stolley followed with a single to score Edell.
 
Drury responded with three of their own in the sixth and tacked on solo runs in the eighth and ninth innings for the series sweep.
 
King, Missey and Edell each had two hits on the afternoon for the Bulldogs.
