KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—The Truman State Men's Basketball team hasn't lost since February 20th. The Bulldogs reached a double digit winning streak for the first time in over 20 years with their victory over Lindenwood last week, taking down the Lions by 13 points.
Against the Lions, Dylan Peeters led the team with a career high 21 points and 11 rebounds. His third double-double of the season earned him GLVC Player of the Week honors. With three double-doubles he remains tied with five other players for the most in the nation. With 11.8 rebounds per game he is 7th nationally. He leads the team with six of the ten blocked shots on the season.
Cade McKnight got his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Lions. He remains the team leader in points per game with 18 points per game. Against the Lions he crossed the 800 point threshold at 802, needing 198 more points to reach 1,000 for his career. McKnight also leads the team with five steals, Hunter Strait is second with four. Both McKnight and Alex McQuinn have recorded two blocked shots.
Masen Miller continues his hot start to the season with 15.5 points per game, and scored 19 against Lindenwood. He is eighth nationally with 4.25 made triples per game, which is the top mark in the GLVC. He is second on the team in assists with nine.
Turner Scott continues to climb the leaderboard in Truman history in assists, now alone in sixth place in program history with 330. At seven assists per game he is tied for fourth nationally. Thus far this season he is averaging a career high 10.5 points per game, and at 814 career points needs just 186 more to reach 1,000.
Elijah Hazekamp has shown his range from outside the arc so far this season as he is third on the team with six three point buckets. He scored a dozen in each of the first two games and he remains second on the team with 6.5 rebounds a game.
As a team, Truman is allowing the fewest points in the GLVC at 65.3 per game and leads in free throw percentage made at over 80%. The team is third in shooting from the floor at 49.1% and first in three point shooting percentage at 42.1%.
Hawks Scouting Report
The Hawks have started the season 1-4, dropping their first four games to Illinois-Springfield, Lewis, Missouri-St. Louis and Lindenwood. Their first win of the season came at Maryville last weekend 91-81.
The team is led once again by Tanner Stuckman, who is averaging 19.8 points per game this season. He scored 35 in their season opener against UIS, and scored 24 and 27 against Truman last season. He is also tied with Charles Callier for the team lead in rebounds with 5.2 per game.
Quincy was ranked fourth in the GLVC Central preseason poll, with 33 points.
Series History
Truman has a long history with their rivals to the East. The series between the two dates back to January 1920, it was the second game in the history of the Truman program. The two would not see each other again until 1946. The Bulldogs won the first meeting 23-11, and won the first four meetings. Truman enters the game on a five game winning streak in the series, dating back to 2018. Overall Truman leads the series 64-61.

The Bulldogs wrap up 2020 against the Hawks and will be back on the floor at Pershing Arena January 3rd as they welcome Southern Indiana.
