KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – After an extended break, the Truman State Women's Basketball team returns to the floor to start a busy month of action. The Bulldogs will first make-up their Maryville game, that was originally scheduled for December 18, on Thursday afternoon in Chesterfield then will play in Pershing Arena for the first time when they welcome Southern Indiana on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-1) have been idle since suffering their first loss of the year back on December 12 against Lindenwood (Mo.) University 80-75. Truman had won their first three games to start the new season but allowed the Lions to overcome a 13-point second half deficit and pick up their fourth straight win over the Bulldogs.

Ellie Weltha scored a season and career-high 16 points and added 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double in the loss. Hannah Belanger also scored 16 points and continues to lead the Bulldogs in scoring at 20.8 points per night. Belanger is hitting 48.5% of her three-point attempts and her four threes per game is fourth among 230 NCAA Division II players.

Katie Jaseckas is second in scoring at 17 points per game and has 12 blocks to go with her 8.3 rebounds per contest. She is third all-time at Truman in career blocks with 113 and ninth in career rebounds with 609.

Katey Klucking has been in double-figure scoring in her last two and is third in scoring on the team at 12.3 points per game. She has made nine of 23 three-point attempts.

Tiffany Davenport will be appearing in her 90th career game on Thursday, the most by an active member of the squad. She is second in Division II in assists/game at 7.5 and fourth in assist/turnover ratio at 5.0 (30 assists/6 turnovers).

As a team, Truman is third in Division II in assists/game at 18.5, fourth in field-goal percentage at 48.7% and fifth in three-point shooting at 42.4%. The Bulldogs are averaging 74.5 points per game, good for second in the GLVC.

Last Game w/Maryville: The Bulldogs and Saints played another classic in their last encounter in Moloney Arena. Katie Jaseckas' own putback with 3.4 seconds remaining in overtime lifted the Bulldogs to an 84-83 win over Maryville. Jaseckas tallied a career-best 29 points and 19 rebounds in the victory while Hannah Belanger added 23 points with four three-pointers. Maryville senior Mary Barton and current junior Jayda Jansen each scored 32 points for the Saints.

The previous meeting last season in Kirksville saw the Bulldogs eek out a one-point win following Sloane Totta's cross court diagonal pass to Maddie Re with under a second to play for the 78-77 win.

Series History: Only once out of the last six meetings between the two programs has any team won by more than six points and four of the past six have been decided by two points or less with two overtime games. Truman is 10-5 all-time against Maryville and 5-1 in games in Moloney Arena. The Bulldogs have won three straight in the series with last year's one point wins and in 2019 a six-point overtime win at the GLVC postseason tournament.
