NOTES: Saturday Trip To Jewell To Roundout Season Series

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – With openings in their schedules with teams down due to COVID, the Truman Bulldogs will travel to William Jewell on Saturday to complete their two-game season series. The game was originally scheduled for February 20.
 
This will be the first road game since December 31st as the Bulldogs hosted five straight home games. Truman went 4-1 in the homestand with wins over Missouri-St. Louis, William Jewell, Missouri S&T and Maryville and a loss to start things off to Southern Indiana.
 
Truman has taken advantage of the home court by shooting 53.6% overall from the floor in their home games with 44% from outside and 78% at the free throw line. The Bulldogs have moved to second in Division II in overall field goal shooting at 51.3% as a team and for perspective, the Truman season record is 45.4% set during the 1998-99 season. 
 
Ellie Weltha obliterated her previous season-high of 16 with 26 in the Bulldogs 75-63 win over Missouri-St. Louis on Tuesday night. Weltha moved to 67.7% shooting from the field by going 10-of-12 from the field and adding seven rebounds. She becomes the fourth Truman starter to reach a double-figure average in scoring at 10.7 points per game. 
 
Katie Jaseckas scored over 15 points for the fourth straight game. Jasekcas tallied 16 points with five rebounds and has shot 66.7% from the field with 12 three-pointers. She is closing in on entering the top 10 all-time in Truman scoring as she is 60 points shy of the 10th spot, she is making the climb up the top 10 in field goals made, currently ninth and is sixth all-time in rebounds with 659.
 
Hannah Belanger is the team's scoring leader at 17.8 points per game, good for fourth in the GLVC. Belanger averages 3.44 triples per game, good for first in the conference and fourth across Division II. She scored over 20 points for the fourth game this season last Saturday with 26 points on five three-pointers. 
 
Tiffany Davenport is the conference leader and third in the country in assists this season with 64 and fifth nationally in assists/per game at 6.4. Davenport, along with Belanger and Katey Klucking are each averaging over 34 minutes per game.
 
Klucking is second in threes with 21 and is third in scoring on the team with 11.5 per game. She is sixth in the conference in threes/per game at 2.22.
 
Allison Thomas and Maya Mouton have come off the bench in all 10 games. Thomas has made 22-of-29 field goal attempts (76%) and Mouton has provided 15 minutes per game with 2.5 and 3.0 rebounds per game. 
 
The Bulldogs are among the league leaders as a team in scoring offense (3rd/76.1), defense field goal percentage (3rd/.397), rebounding margin (1st/+10.4), blocked shots (2nd/3.44), assists (1st/18.78), assist/turnover ratio (3rd/1/13), and threes/game (1st/9.3). 
 
Schedule Adjustments: Truman will have to add in games against Lindenwood and Drury that were both postponed due to COVID. 
 
Scouting Report: William Jewell
The Cardinals have won two straight entering Saturday's game against the Bulldogs…Jewell defeated Missouri S&T 73-67 last Saturday and Maryville on Thursday night 59-54…The Cardinals are third in the GLVC in steals per game at 9.73 with Kiara Bradley and Sydney Offield averaging over two per night…Bradley is third in the conference in scoring at 20.3 points and is fourth in boards at 9.5…the Cardinals are near the bottom of the league stats in scoring offense (14th - 62.0/g), field goal shooting (14th/.373) and three-point shooting (14th/.263)…three of their five wins this season have come on their home court. 

Last Game w/William Jewell: The Bulldogs hit six of their first seven shots, including four of five from three and led wire-to-wire in a 77-63 victory over the Cardinals in Pershing Arena on January 6. Katie Jaseckas scored 18 points and added 12 rebounds as she didn't miss on the day. Jaseckas was 6-of-6 from the field, with four threes and two free throws. Ellie Weltha added 16 points, then a season-high, and Katey Klucking scored 14. Truman shot 54.3% overall and buried 11-of-25 from distance. Jewell got 17 from Kiara Bradley and 14 from Annemarie Boeh.  
 
Series History: The Bulldogs have won five of their last six meetings with William Jewell, including the last three. Truman broke a three-game losing streak in Liberty in their last visit when they downed the Cardinals 89-62. The three previous meetings that were Jewell wins were a 68-63 decision in 2016, 52-49 win in 2018 and an 86-72 triumph in 2019. All-time, the series is tied at three apiece in Liberty and 12-4 in favor of Truman overall.
