Bulldogs Fall in Weather Delayed Final at Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—The Truman Men's Soccer team dropped another close decision Friday night as they fell to Lewis 1-0 in the first of two road games over the weekend. Weather pushed the game back by just over a half hour, but the Flyers got a first half goal from Domenic Baumann which made the difference in the game. Despite generating more shots on goal than the Flyers, the Bulldogs were unable to find the back of the net.

In the 14th minute, Justin Olwig made his first save for the Bulldogs as he stopped an effort from Aris Oluwatuyi. It was just about three and a half minutes later that Baumann's strike put Lewis on the board.

Truman responded with attempts from Aidan Morgan and Jacob Grabenhorst in the following minutes but neither of them beat Lewis keeper Sebastian Doppelhofer. Sam Newton later got an attempt on goal but it was stopped.

Collin McDonough, who had two shots on goal, had the first for the Bulldogs in the second half. Later he had his second in the 77th minute, and in the waning stages of the game Thomas Weber and Jack Knust both tested the Flyer keeper but could not get the Bulldogs on the board.

Truman heads to Indianapolis for a showdown with the #2 ranked Greyhounds of UIndy on Sunday afternoon. The match will start at 2:30 ET/1:30 CT.
