KIRKSVILLE, Mo.--The Truman Men's and Women's Swimming teams were in action Saturday as they hosted their first dual of the season, against William Jewell in Pershing Natatorium. The women's team defeated the Cardinals 144-59 while the men dropped a close decision 109-95. Complete results of the meet can be found

The women had many strong performances, including from
Abby Bomball in the 1000 freestyle who finished first in the event with a finals time of 11:00.82--which was over two seconds faster than her seed time.
Emily Traube finished first in the 200 freestyle, and beat her seed time by .15 seconds with a finals time of 1:57.4.
Kylie Strobl finished third in the event and beat her seed time by nearly two seconds. In the 400 IM Meg Herevoh and
Christina Jurotich took first and second place, respectively while in the 200 butterfly
Madison Nguyen and
Lexi Krogman took first and second.
Lexi Poe won the 100 freestyle while Katilyn McDaniel and
Holly Olson took third and fourth. In the 200 backstroke the trio of
Natalie Nguyen,
Emma Harris and Strobl took first through third. Herevoh won the 500 freestyle, beating her seed time by over eight seconds, while Sidney Durbin and Bomball took second and third. Â
A.J. Kohler scored nine points for the men with a first place finish in the 200 freestyle.
Noah May won the 400 IM and Jax Mahlstadt won the 200 butterfly. In the 200 breaststroke the trio of
John Breen, Mahlstadt and
Miles McIntyre finished first through third.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on October 22nd as they compete in the McKendree tri-meet.
