KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—Over the weekend the Truman Men's and Women's Swimming teams took on St. Ambrose at Pershing Natatorium and both teams emerged victorious over the Bees, with the women winning 184-65 and the men taking a close victory 134.5-126.5. Complete individual results can be found here.
For the women's team, the 200 yard medley relay teams took first and second—with Emma Brabham, Emily Traube, Holly Olson and Lexi Poe taking first at 1:48.77 and the team of Natalie Nguyen, Christina Jurotich, Madison Nguyen and Lexi Krogman taking second at 1:54.53. In the 200 freestyle relay Traube, Strobl, Herevoh and Brabham won while Krogman, Beahan, Rae Friesz and Natalie will finished second.
Individually, Abby Bomball won the 1000 freestyle with a finals time of 11:03.02, in the 200 freestyle Meg Herevoh took first with a time of 1:58.27, Lexi Poe second at 2:00.42 and Brooke Beahan third at 2:05.55. In the 100 backstroke Brabham won the event with a finals time of 58.21, and Strobl beat her seed time of 1:01.57 with a finals time of 1:01.06 to finish third while Natalie Nguyen and Emma Harris finished fourth and fifth. Traube won the 100 breaststroke with a finals time of 1:10.10.
Sidney Durbin won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:13.23, which beat her seed time by over two seconds, while Jurotich finished second in the event. Durbin also won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:30.55 and Jurotich finished second. Brabham, Olson, Maisy Kurucz and Beahan finished first through fourth in the 50 yard freestyle—with Kurucz beating her seed time. In the 100 free Traube won the event at 53.32, just under her seed time, Herevoh finished second at 54.05, beating her seed time, while Lexi Krogman, Lexi Poe and Kylie Strobl finished third through fifth. In the 500 free Herevoh won the event with a time of 5:21.27, Abby Bomball second with 5:29.5 and Beahan third at 5:30.96. Olson and Krogman took first and second in the 100 butterfly
On the men's side, A.J. Kohler won the 200 free with a time of 1:45.73 and Grant Lair took second with a time of 1:46.97. John Breen won the 100 breaststroke with a finals time of 59.41 and Miles McIntyre finished third and beat his seed time by half a second with a finals time of 1:01.06. In the 50 yard free Jacob Pocivasek tied for first with a time of 21.6, then second in the 100 free with a time of 48.17 while Kohler won the event. Grant Lair won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.22. Jax Mahlstadt won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:14.85 and the 200 IM with at time of 1:59.39. Jack McKenzie won the 100 butterfly while McIntyre finished second and beat his seed time. In the 200 freestyle, the final event of the meet, the team of Kohler, John Breen, McKenzie and Pocivasek won the event.
The Bulldogs will be back in action this Saturday in St. Louis as they take Missouri-St. Louis at noon.
