TOPEKA, Kan. - An extra inning loss and a blowout win highlighted day two of Truman Softball's trip to the Washburn Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs will wrap up the tournament on Sunday at 10 a.m. against Fort Hays State.

The Jennies scored two runs in the top of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie to down the Bulldogs 3-1 in the opener on Saturday.
Central led 1-0 until two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Cameryn Patterson was hit by a pitch and Brieanna Klein doubled to center field to drive in the tying run.
Each team left runners on base in the final inning of regulation.
Playing the international tie-breaking rules of placing a runner on second in the extra innings, UCM brought home the eventual winner following a stolen base and a ground out. They added an insurance run following a double.
The Bulldogs stranded their runner in scoring position and went down 1-2-3.
Lauren Bowman went 2-for-3 for Truman.
Wayne St. Box Score
Annabel Zimmer allowed just one hit in six innings of work as Truman turned up the offense with a 12-2 win over Wayne (Neb.) State. McKenzie West drove in five runs and Cameryn Patterson was one off the school record in RBIs with seven in the win.
Wayne struck first with two runs in their half of the first inning. A leadoff walk, followed by a double put runners in scoring position early. The first run came in on a wild pitch and the second run scored on a fielder's choice.
Truman left a pair of runners on in the second but finally broke through in the third. Emma Walbert reached on an error and Maria McGonegle on a fielder's choice. McKenzie West tripled in the first two and Patterson brought in West with a sac fly for a 3-2 lead.
The duo struck again in the fourth with West doubling in two runs and Patterson belting a two-run homer in a five-run frame.Â
In the sixth, Truman loaded the bases for Patterson and she blasted a grand slam for the 12-2 lead.
After the first, Zimmer allowed only two base runners via bases on balls for her second win of the season.
Bulldog Hall of Famer Kristi Bredbenner owns the school mark in RBIs in a game with eight against Emporia State in 2000.Â
