RECAP: Truman Bats Silent in Doubleheader Sweep by Greyhounds

INDIANAPOLIS--The Truman Baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Saturday at the hands of Indianapolis 10-0 and 6-0. In game one Corey Bates pitched a seven inning, complete game for the Greyhounds to move to 1-4 on the year. Zachry Schneider took the loss for Truman to drop to 0-2 on the year.

The Bulldogs got runners into scoring position four different times in the game, but were unable to bring them around. In the top of the second, Will Fromm advanced to second on a groundout following a leadoff walk. In the third Landon Hamm reached on a fielder's choice and then moved to second on an error by the pitcher. In the fourth Fromm grabbed a leadoff double but could not advance further. In the sixth Fromm singled and then moved to second after Reid Wilson walked.

Game Two

Michael Daggett got the start in game two, and gave up five runs, all earned, to drop to 0-3 on the season. Wyatt Phillips got the win to move to 1-0.

In the first inning, Holden Missey reached with two outs on an error by the shortstop. A single by Fromm moved Missey to third. But Missey was stranded 90 feet away. In the third Brennan Perkins reached scoring position after a single and moving to second on a wild pitch. In the fourth, Wilson singled then advanced on a wild pitch. In the sixth, Jack Owens singled and Wilson singled to move Owens to second, but with two men on the offense sputtered and couldn't bring in a run. In the seventh the Bulldogs had a chance following a leadoff single by Sam Smith, but he was out at second as Perkins reached on a fielder's choice. Missey was hit by a pitch to put two men on with two outs, but both were left on base.

The series finale will be tomorrow at noon central time.
