QUINCY, Ill. - The Truman Softball team could not hold on to a pair of leads and dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Quincy University on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks took game one 6-1 and the nightcap 6-2.
Maria McGonegle put Truman on top in game one with a double to left center field that scored Ellie Weltha.
The Hawks got a 2-run homer in the bottom of the fourth and a three-run tripper in the fifth before adding a run in the sixth to win 6-1.
Cameryn Patterson was 2-for-3.
Weltha knocked a solo homer in the first inning of game two but a three-run second and a three-run fourth send Truman down 6-2. Emma Walbert got an RBI single scoring Emily Eberwine in Truman's third for the second run of the game.
Walbert had two of the three Bulldog hits.
Truman falls to 9-23 overall and 6-16 in the GLVC.
