KANSAS CITY--The Truman Baseball team came into Saturday looking to build on Friday's big win, but could not get the offense going as they dropped game one 7-2 and game two 4-2 Saturday at Rockhurst. Jack Eisenbarger got the win in game one to move to 8-1 while Zachry Schneider took the loss for the Bulldogs to drop to 0-8. In game two Calyton Medlin got the win to move to 1-1 while Michael Daggett fell to 1-6.
Game One
The game was scoreless through the first three innings, but Truman struck in the top of the fourth. With two outs Steven Bradbury singled up the middle, and Will Fromm followed with a double to bring Bradbury in and make it 1-0.
Rockhurst scored two in the bottom of the fifth, but in the top of the sixth Truman answered as Kevin Donohue led off with a single, moved to second and stole third. Bradbury followed and knocked Donohue in. With the game tied at 2-2, Rockhurst went off for five runs in the bottom of the sixth which won the game.
Game Two
After four innings, Truman found themselves down 4-0. The late inning rally came up just short, starting in the top of the fifth as Holden Missey launched a solo shot to get Truman on the board. In the bottom of the sixth, Bradbury singled with two outs, Kory Carter followed with a hit by pitch and then Fromm doubled to bring Bradbury in. It was 4-2, but Truman could not manage another rally as they fell just short.
The two will conclude their four game set tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
