KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—The Truman Men's Soccer team hosted Maryville Friday afternoon at Bulldog Soccer Park, and for the second straight match the Bulldogs fell 1-0. An early goal from Maryville's Mirza Hacecic made the difference in the game.
Early on Maryville was on the front foot, with a chance that went off the post and one goal that was called back due to an offside call. In the seventh minute, Hacecic got his shot past Justin Olwig and gave Maryville the lead. The rest of the half buzzed by, with neither team generating another shot on goal.
In the second half, Andy Brennan recorded the Bulldog's first shot on goal in the 54th minute but Liam Walraven kept it out of the net. Truman continued to build the attack throughout the half, but Maryville managed to block some of the Bulldog attempts and at the end Holden Potter had the last chance for the Bulldogs but it went wide.
The Bulldogs will be back in action Sunday as they head to Rolla to take on Missouri S&T at 2:30 PM.
