ST. LOUIS—The Truman Men's Soccer team fell 1-0 Friday night on the road in St. Louis against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Bradley Fritsche got the Tritons on the board in the 39th minute to decide the game.
Andy Brennan recorded the first shot on goal of the game for either team as he tested UMSL keeper Jordan Hurt early on. But Hurt was able to stop the bottom, left shot. Justin Olwig made his first save in the 24th minute as he stopped a shot from Tommy Naumann. Truman came close to scoring once again but a shot from Jacob Grabenhorst went off the top of the post and out of play. Olwig made another stop on Brady Glon before Fritsche beat the true freshman keeper.
Shots were hard to come by in the second half as both teams locked down their defenses tight. Collin McDonough missed high and then Luke Payne missed to the left for the last shot of the game for either side.
Olwig managed another four saves, but once again in a losing effort. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Sunday at Lindenwood, with a 2:30 pm kickoff.
