LIBERTY, Mo.—The Truman Swimming teams competed in their final action of the season before the GLVC Championships Saturday in Liberty as the men's and women's teams took on the William Jewell Cardinals. The women's team took the victory 110-87 while the men fell 139-66. Full results for every event can be found here.
For the women, Abby Bomball took first in the 800 freestyle with a finals time of 9:59.84, Meg Heveroh won the 200 free at 2:14.9 and Emily Traube won the 50 free at 27.97. Emma Brabham won the 100 fly by over three seconds at 1:05.83, while Sarah Nelson had among the closest victories possible as she won the 100 free with a time of 1:01.86, beating Emily Sawyer of William Jewell by .02 seconds. Emma Harris also took first in the 400 free at 4:46.12. The 200 free relay team of Brabham, Lexi Krogman, Christina Jurotich and Lexi Poe won the event with a final time of 1:53.89, nearly three seconds ahead of second place.
On the men's side Jacob Pocivasek won a close call in the 50 free at 24.25, narrowing out WJC's Casey Bach by .09 seconds. John Breen also took first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.67, nearly a second and a half ahead of second place.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at the GLVC Championships starting February 9th through the 12th.
