KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State Men's soccer team punched their ticket to the 2022 GLVC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament after defeating William Jewell College (Mo.) 2-0 on Sunday. The Bulldogs make the GLVC Tournament for the first time in program history.
Adam Shine gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute with a goal assisted by Max Sengl.
Luke Payne sealed the game for Truman, tallying his fourth goal of the season in the 82nd minute with an assist from Aidan Morgan.
Justin Olwig kept a clean sheet, saving all six of William Jewell's shots on goal.
The Bulldogs finished the 2022 regular season with a 5-5-6 record, going 4-4-4 in conference play.
Truman will be the No. 7 seed playing at No. 2 Lewis University in the GLVC Tournament Quarterfinals on Sunday, October 30. Time to be determined.
