KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State Men's basketball took care of business against Grand View University, winning 89-68 on Monday night.
It was a tightly-contested first half, with Grand View being up 18-16 with 12:15 left before the break. Truman closed out the half with a nine-point advantage, up 44-35.
The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half, going up 20 points with 7:56 left in the contest. Truman had a great night shooting, going 34-56 from the field (60.7%), and 14-25 (56%) from three. Truman held Grand View to 40.9% shooting and 33.3% from three.
Four Bulldogs recorded double-digit points, with Elijah Hazekamp leading with 19 points, along with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Dylan Peeters had 12 points, four rebounds, and a steal. Nduka Ogwu had his second double-digit game of the season, scoring 11 with four rebounds. Xavier Hall dropped 10 points and a team-high sevens assists. Eight other Bulldogs scored, with Trey Shearer nearly reaching double-digits, scoring nine in the game.
Truman takes a break then is back at home against Culver-Stockton on Saturday, December 31st, at 1 p.m.
