LIBERTY, Mo. – The Truman State Swimming teams opened up the Jacob Ragsdale era with a split with William Jewell College on Saturday. The women won their triangular with 490 points while the men finished second with 475, 12 points behind the Cardinals.
Emily Traube and
Meg Heveroh were double winners for the Bulldogs. Traube swam 29.27 in the 50 free and 1:00.67 in the 100 free to take top honors. Heveroh took the mid-distance events with a 2:11.74 in the 200 free and 4:43.82 in the 400 free.
The 200 free relay team of Traube, Heveroh,
Kylie Strobl and
Taylor Graham also claimed victory with a mark of 1:52.86.
On the men's side,
AJ Kohler was the winner in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.02 and the 100 fly at a pace of 57.50.
Peyton Sewell was the silver medalist in the 800 free, clocking 8:58.38. Sewell was third in the 400 free while
Cameron Lee picked up a third in the 50 free.
The Bulldogs will head to their first big fall event next weekend at the Minnesota State Mankato Maverick Invite that will run Friday through Sunday.
