QUINCY, Ill. - Truman State baseball dropped the first of four games against No. 8 Quincy on Friday afternoon 14-4.
The Quincy Hawks got the scoring started in the second inning off an Austin Simpson home run, but the Bulldogs bounced back in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead over Quincy. Tal Dean tripled down the right field line, scoring Simon Murray and Holden Missey. Dean came home on an error to go up two.
Quincy scored 11 unanswered in the third, fifth, and sixth innings to go up 12-3.
Luke Roussel homered in the seventh to add their fourth run of the game.
The Hawks scored two more in the bottom of the seventh to end the game via run rule.
Simon Murray went 2-3 at the plate with a run.
Tal Dean had a team-high two RBI with his triple in the third.
Luke Roussel went 1-3 with a home run.
Will Fromm, Grant Beck, and Holden Missey each recorded a hit.
Zachry Schneider threw 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking one.
The Bulldogs play three more against Quincy this weekend.
