QUINCY, Ill. - Truman State baseball lost the second and third games to No. 8 Quincy 6-2 and 4-1.
Game One:
Quincy went up 3-0 in the first and second innings off a wild pitch, home run, and double.
The Bulldogs cut the lead to one in the fifth when Tal Dean hit an RBI single, and Holden Missey scored on a wild pitch.
The Hawks tacked on three more in the sixth with a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run.
Dylan Thompson went 2-3 at the plate.
Holden Missey went 1-1 with a double, walk, and base on balls.
Tal Dean recorded the lone RBI of the game with his single in the fifth.
Holden Missey, Cole Eggerding, and Alex Leary all threw in the game. Missey gave up three in 2.0 innings pitched, Eggerding gave up three in 3.1 innings, and Leary gave up one in 0.2 innings of work.
Game Two:
Quincy scored four unanswered in the second and fifth innings off two sacrifice flies and two singles.
Grant Beck hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth for Truman's only run of the contest.
Beck, Luke Roussel, and Simon Murray recorded Truman's three hits. Grant went 1-2 with the only RBI of the game, Roussel went 1-2, and Murray also went 1-3.
Isaac Epp threw 4.0 innings, giving up three run, allowing three hits, walking three, and striking out three.
Brian Bruxvoort and Michael Daggett each threw an inning, with Daggett giving up one run unearned.
