ROLLA, Mo. - Truman State baseball took the first of four games at Missouri S&T, winning 9-5.
The Miners scored three in the first, but it would be their last runs scored until the ninth inning.
The Bulldogs took a 5-3 lead after a Will Fromm single, a Grant Beck Single, a Holden Missey double, and Missey scoring on a fielder's choice. Fromm and Beck's hits were in the second, and Missey's double/run scored happened in the third.
Truman added some insurance runs in the seventh and eighth when Simon Murray scored on a wild pitch, Holden Missey hit a two-RBI single, and Grant Beck hit an RBI double.
Zachry Schneider threw six innings, allowing three earned runs, and four hits. Alex Leary, Brian Bruxvoort, and Michael Daggett each threw an inning to shut the door.
Holden Missey, Grant Beck, and Simon Murray all had two hits each, with Missey driving in a team-high four RBI. Missey now holds the Truman State record for career doubles with 41.
