CHESTERFIELD, Mo. - Truman State baseball dropped the fourth and final game of their series at Maryville, falling 4-1
The Bulldogs and Saints were both scoreless through three innings, but the Saints broke through in the fourth, scoring on a balk. Maryville scored one in the fifth and one in the sixth to make it 3-0.
Tal Dean hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to score Alex Wittenauer to cut the lead to three. Maryville tacked on a fourth run in the same inning to make it 4-1.
Tal Dean had the only RBI of the day, and was one six Bulldogs to record a hit. Alex Wittenauer went 1-3 with a run and a walk.
Isaac Epp took the loss but had a solid outing. He threw 6.0 innings, allowing three runs and seven hits. He struck out eight Maryville batters. Alex Leary and. Jaren Guck each threw an inning, with Leary giving up a run with one strikeout, and Guck striking out two with no hits allowed.
