KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State baseball dropped a midweek non-conference against Missouri Western State University at home 16-4.
The Griffons struck first in the fist with a single, but Truman bounced back and took a 2-1 lead of a Dylan Thompson RBI single and a Jack Darwin sacrifice fly that scored Holden Missey.
Western tacked on 12 more runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings to go up 13-2.
Will Fromm and Simon Murray each hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it a 13-4 game.
Missouri Western then added two more in the top of the seventh to lead by 12 and won by run rule.
Will Fromm went 3-4 home run, RBI, and a run.
Dylan Thompson had two hits in four at-bats with a double and RBI.
Luke Turner, Holden Missey, Grant Beck, and Simon Murray all had a hit in the game.
The Bulldogs play four more at home this week, with games against ranked Illinois Springfield on Friday, April 28th - Sunday, April 30th.
