KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Holden Missey's incredible day at the plate and Zachry Schneider's pitching performance led to a dominant 16-1 win over GLVC opponent UMSL.
Tal Dean got it started for Bulldogs, hitting a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first. Dylan Thompson and Luke Roussel hit RBI singles in the same inning to go up 4-0 early.
The Bulldogs scored seven more in the third off a Tyler Tieman homer, a Grant Beck single, and a Simon Murray home run.
In the fifth, Luke Turner hit an RBI single and Holden Missey hit a three-run bomb to make it 15-0.
UMSL scored their only run of the game in the sixth but Truman got it back with a Grant Beck RBI single that scored Gannon Grieb.
Holden Missey went 4-4 at the plate with three doubles and a home run, driving in three and scoring three times. He is now at 46 career doubles, which is most in Truman history. His home run brought him to 32 in his career, and is now one away from tying the all-time record.
Dylan Thompson and Grant Beck had two hits and two RBI each.
Tal Dean, Luke Turner, Tyler Tieman, Luke Roussel, and Simon Murray all had hits. All five recorded RBIs as well, with Tieman and Murray having three each.
Zachry Schneider took the win after throwing six innings, allowing just one run and four hits. His run was unearned.
Truman plays three more against UMSL, with two on Friday and one on Saturday.
