ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Truman State Men's basketball took the trip to St. Louis and fell to UMSL 81-67 on Saturday.
Both teams were trading leads for more than 10 minutes in the first-half before the Tritons gained momentum and went into the break up 42-25.
The Bulldogs found themselves down 17 to began the second-half and tried their best make a comeback. Truman cut the UMSL lead to single-digits three times over the last 20 minutes of the game but were unable to swing the game back in their favor.
The Tritons went on to win the game by 14 and the Bulldogs fall to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in GLVC play.
Landon Eiland led Truman in scoring with 13 points on 4-8 shooting. He also had three rebounds.
Casen Lawrence and Matt Haefner both had 12 points, being the other two players with double-digit points for the Bulldogs. Lawrence shot 4-7 from the field and three while recording a rebound, an assist, and a steal. Haefner had three boards and two assists.
Blaise Porter had a team-high in assists with 7 and four Bulldogs had two assists which led the team.
Brennan Lovette had Truman's only block in the game.
The Bulldogs play two on the road next week against Quincy and Illinois Springfield on January 11th and 13th.
