SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Panthers scored four unanswered goals to hand Truman State a 4-1 defeat Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs drew first blood with a 19th minute when
Zoran Sabbert, working his way in from the right side, found
Landon Keisker in front of the net for a 1-0 lead. The match was still within reach at the half even after the Panthers pushed across an equalizer scored by Carson Morgan in the 35th minute.
The tide turned Drury's way after the half when Mason Platts intercepted a
Justin Olwig pass in the 55th minute and dribbled past the keeper to break the 1-1 tie. Drury was awarded a free kick in the 61st minute, which Joe Loughnane converted into the third Panther goal of the afternoon, before Abdullah Iqbal's score in the 74th minute all but ended any hopes of a Bulldog comeback.
Truman State, 3-5-3 overall and 2-4-3 in the GLVC, heads to Bolivar, Mo., for a 2:30 p.m. Sunday match against Southwest Baptist.
