KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - A late goal by Lincoln lifted the Blue Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Truman State men's soccer team on Friday. The Bulldogs host Missouri S&T on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
The Blue Tigers, in their first return to Kirksville since 1999, wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard. Eugeni Yague made a deep cross from the right side and found Giulherme Capaldi just four minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead.
Lincoln continued the pressure until the Bulldogs found their footing.
With 7:50 left before halftime, Tyler Bouchaert served a pass from the right corner that found the head of Daniel Riazi on the back post for the equalizer.
The game winner came off a free kick with just over 11 minutes left to play. A service from midfield was knocked to Shandee Brooks, who beat Justin Olwig for the winner.
