Joggerst Records Three RBI In Loss At SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. - Truman State baseball fell 10-7 to Southwest Baptist in the opening game of the series.

Dakota Joggerst got Truman State on the board in the top of the third inning with a double down the right field line that scored Luke Turner.

The SBU Bearcats scored four in the fourth with a single and a three-run home run.

The Bulldogs and Bearcats scored nine runs combined in the sixth inning, with Truman scoring six of their own. Colin Mueth drove Kevin Donohue in, Luke Roussel scored on an error, Luke Turner hit an RBI single, and Joggerst hit a two-run homer for his third RBI of the day. Southwest Baptist scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game up 7-7.

The Bearcats scored three more in the eighth to make it a 10-7 game.

Dakota Joggerst went 2-5 at the plate with a double and a home run, leading the team in RBI with three.

Luke Turner had two hits in four at-bats with two RBI and a walk.

Oliver Degenhardt and Colin Mueth both had a hit, with Mueth going 2-3 with a walk and two steals.

Dylan Thompson had one hit that was a double but was walked three times.

Isaac Epp threw 5.0 innings with four earned runs, striking out three with two going down looking.

The Bulldogs play two more against the Bearcats tomorrow at noon and 3 p.m.
