ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Truman State won in dramatic fashion for a second-straight game, taking a 12-10 victory over Lewis.
The Lewis Flyers got out to a massive 9-0 lead after three innings, scoring one in the first and eight in the third.
Truman scored eight in the top of the fourth inning with the help of an Oliver Degenhardt RBI single, Dakota Joggerst scoring on a wild pitch, Grant Beck scored Degenhardt with a single, Luke Roussel had an RBI single of his own, and Tal Dean hit a grand slam.
Lewis scored a tenth run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double.
In the bottom of the ninth, Dakota Joggerst got on base with a single up the middle. Tyler Tieman walked to get two runners on base, then Will Fromm hit a single to right that brought Joggerst across the plate. Kevin Donohue pinch ran for Fromm. With Tieman on third and Donohue on second, Luke Roussel hit a three-run home run to right field to take a 12-10 lead and win.
Joggerst and Fromm with went 3-4, with Joggerst scoring twice with a walk and Fromm scoring once with a walk as well.
Luke Turner, Grant Beck, and Luke Roussel all had two-games.
Tal Dean and Roussel led the team in RBI with four each. Dean's grand slam and Roussel's single and home run accounted for eight runs.
Oliver Degenhardt had a hit and an RBI, and Tyler Tieman was walked twice.
Ty Rauser, Justin Maloney, Jordan Marlott, and Jaren Guck all threw scoreless innings. Guck took the win after throwing the final two frames with a strikeout and one hit.
The Bulldogs and Flyers split the series, with Lewis winning the first two and Truman taking the final two.
Truman State and Rockhurst play next in Kansas City from April 5-7.
