KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Truman State baseball lost the series opener at Rockhurst 3-0 on Friday night.
The first run scored in the game came in the fourth inning, when a runner scored on a fielder's choice. The Hawks scored one more in the fifth and a third in the sixth.
Colin Mueth went 2-3 at the plate, one of the hits being a double and he swiped a bag as well.
Luke Turner, Dylan Thompson, and Dakota Joggerst all had a hit each. Turner and Joggerst hit doubles.
Isaac Epp had a solid outing, throwing 5.2 innings with three two earned runs. Epp struck out five and walked three, while allowing eight hits.
Justin Maloney threw 1.1 innings, allowing no runs and striking out two of the four batters he faced.
Jordan Marlott threw an inning, striking out one with a hit allowed.
The Bulldogs and Hawks play a doubleheader tomorrow at 1 and 4 p.m.
