Tal Dean Sets Truman State Record In Win

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Tal Dean set a new Truman State record for career walks in a 7-5 win over Missouri S&T in the series finale.

With Luke Turner on base, Dakota Joggerst hit his third home run of the year to take an early 2-0 lead over the S&T Miners.

S&T took the lead back in the third and fourth innings by scoring two in each.

After walking in the second inning, Tal Dean did it again in the fourth and broke Truman's career walks record. Dean now has 91 walks in his career as a Truman State Bulldog. Dylan Thompson hit a double to left field that scored Dean and cut S&T's lead to one.

The Miners hit an RBI single in the top of the fifth to take a two-run lead.

The Bulldogs tied it up in the seventh off a Will Fromm RBI single to left field and Luke Roussel scoring on a wild pitch.

With the game tied up 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth, Tyler Tieman hit a single to left field that plated Dylan Thompson and Oliver Degenhardt.

Brian Bruxvoort shut the door in the top of the ninth, allowing no runs with one hit allowed.

Nate Bartlett started the game on the mound and threw 3.1 innings with six strikeouts, seven walks, two hits, and four earned runs.
