KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Truman State baseball suffered a 14-4 loss at Rockhurst in the last game of the series.
The first three innings had no runs scored, but Truman got on the board in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead over Rockhurst. In the fourth, Oliver Degenhardt scored on a wild pitch. In the fifth inning, Tyler Tieman drove Dakota Joggerst in with a single and Degenhardt scored on a throwing error in the same play.
The Rockhurst Hawks scored 11 unanswered in the fifth and sixth innings, but the Bulldogs were able to get one back in the seventh with a Tyler Tieman homer to left field.
The Hawks scored three more runs in the bottom of the seventh to win by run rule.
Degenhardt and Tieman both recorded two hits in the game. Degenhardt hit a double in the fourth and Tieman had both of Truman's RBI.
Tal Dean, Dylan Thompson, Dakota Joggerst, Will Fromm, Luke Roussel, and Colin Mueth each had a hit. Joggerst had a double and Roussel recorded a stolen base.
The Bulldogs had 10 hits, five walks, and seven strikeouts as a team.
Nate Bartlett threw 3.2 innings of shutout ball, striking out one batter with no hits and six walks.
The Bulldogs return home to play four games against Missouri S&T on April 12-14.
