ROLLA, Mo. - The Missouri S&T Miners completed a weekend sweep of the Truman State Baseball team on Sunday. The Bulldogs will open the home portion of their schedule with a weekend series against St. Cloud (Minn.) State, starting Friday afternoon on campus.
Dakota Joggerst singled to start the fifth inning, but that was the only offense in an 8-0 loss in game one. Joggerst singled to left field and later swiped second base but was stranded at third.
The Miners scored single runs in the first and second innings, added two in the fourth, and plated four in the fifth.
Game two saw S&T score seven times in the bottom of the second and five more in the bottom of the seventh for a 14-3 win.
The Bulldogs took advantage of three walks with one out in the fourth, as Luke Roussel drove in Owen Browning and Tyler Tieman with a single to right. Browning and Roussel both singled in the sixth, and Browning scored on a two-out hit by Gavin Schieffer.
