Truman State drops series opener to Quincy 6-3

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Truman State surrendered a two-run double out of a ninety-minute rain delay as Quincy scored five to pull away to a 6-3 win Thursday.

Bulldog starter Danny Lindsey left the game with the bases loaded and one out when lightning in the area paused action with the score tied 2-2. Danny Tovar, pitching in relief, struck out the first Hawk when play resumed, but a double cleared the bases and put the 'Dogs behind 4-2. The Purple and White mustered just one run the rest of the way when a one-out double by Colin Mueth led to a run scored on an RBI single by Rawlins Brant.

Brant, Luke Roussel, Tommy Krock, and Charlie Berry all knocked two hits on the afternoon with doubles by Mueth and Quinten Bauman. Brant, Oliver Degenhardt, and Berry collected one RBI each.

Truman State and Quincy will be back at it Friday in a 12 p.m. start in Kirksville.
