(OMAHA, Neb.) – The Truman women's soccer team picked up a key road victory on Thursday afternoon, posting a 3-0 shutout at Nebraska-Omaha and moving into sole possession of second place in the MIAA standings.
Junior Megan Buri (Parkville, Mo., Park Hill South) got the Bulldogs on the board in the 15th minute, before junior Kelsey Twellman (St. Louis, Mo., Incarnate Word Academy) (74') and senior Danielle Hill (Geneva, Ill., Geneva) (89') added second-half insurance tallies for Truman, who snapped a four-match winless streak with the win. Redshirt freshman Emily Bozdeck (St. Louis, Mo., Lindbergh) earned the shutout in goal for the 'Dogs (6-2-4, 5-1-4 MIAA). UNO fell to 5-6-1 overall (5-4-1 MIAA) with the loss.
Truman took ten total shots to just seven for the Mavericks, including holding UNO to just one attempt in the second half. It was a crisp match, as only five total fouls were whistled - three against Truman.
The Bulldogs have six games remaining in the 2010 regular season and will host Missouri Southern (3-5-4, 3-3-4 MIAA) on Saturday morning at 11:30 am in Kirksville.
