KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State University junior midfielder Mackenzie Wright was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Wright scored one goal in each of Truman's two conference victories last week, finishing with four points across 75 minutes. She took three shots and placed two on goal as the Bulldogs defeated Illinois Springfield and Lincoln.

The Kansas City, Missouri, native scored the game-winning goal during Wednesday's 1-0 road victory over Illinois Springfield. Wright entered the match during the first half and converted a pass from Sam Busch at the 39:12 mark.

Wright struck again Sunday during Truman's 2-1 home victory over Lincoln. Lizzy Peng assisted Wright's opening goal at 43:41, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 halftime lead. Hanna Ritter later scored the game winner in the 82nd minute.

The two goals were Wright's first of the season and helped Truman improve to 3-2-3 overall and 2-1-2 in GLVC play.

This is Wright's first career GLVC Offensive Player of the Week award. She is the first Bulldog to receive the honor since Lia Quintero on Oct. 7, 2024.

Truman returns to action Wednesday at William Jewell. The conference match begins at 5 p.m. in Liberty, Missouri. The Bulldogs will then visit McKendree at noon Saturday.
