(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – A penalty kick goal in the 43rd minute of Saturday afternoon's tussle between the MIAA's top two women's soccer programs proved to be the difference, as the No. 22 Truman Bulldogs fell 1-0 at 3rd-ranked Central Missouri.
Alyssa Rhodes scored her fifth goal of the season for the Jennies (9-0, 7-0 MIAA) just before the intermission after a Bulldog foul allowed her to line up from 12-yards out. The Bulldogs (5-2-2, 4-1-2 MIAA) took just three shots in the match, with the lone shot on goal coming off the foot of freshman
Suzanne Pelley (Weldon Spring, Mo., Francis Howell).
Junior keeper
Jayne Grisham (Bridgeton, Mo., Ursuline Academy) made six saves for the 'Dogs, who will return to Kirksville to face Missouri Western on Thursday (Oct. 7) at 3 pm.
