Men's Tennis Closes Fall Season Perfect

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Men's Tennis team finished up their fall season with a 9-0 victory over Missouri Baptist on Wednesday at the university tennis courts.  The Bulldogs finish the season going 4-0 in dual matches.

Adam King and Kirk Schlueter moved to 4-0 in dual doubles matches with an 8-2 victory at number two to help the Bulldogs to a 3-0 lead.

In singles play, all six Bulldogs were straight set winners as Eric McCollough and Joe Murphy-Baum did not allow a Spartan to win a game in their wins.

McCollough and Mike Merchant led the team in dual wins with four this fall with McCollough picking up all his in the top singles spot.  Colin Boswell was also perfect in singles action with a 3-0 record.

As a team, the Bulldogs were 19-5 in singles action during dual matches and 9-3 in doubles play.

The team will next be in action on Feb. 12 against Graceland and Grinnell College.
