TOPEKA, Kan. - - A massive day by both Megan Sharpe and Allie Brak led the Truman volleyball team to a pair of four-set victories on day two of the Washburn Fall Classic. The 'Dogs downed Central Oklahoma and Abilene Christian on the day, running their record on the year to 9-6.

Sharpe had 17 kills, hit .577 and led all players with six blocks, while both Brak and Lauren Radix added 11 kills to help spur the 'Dogs to a 3-1 (-16, 23-25, -19, -22) win against UCO on Saturday morning.

Truman hit .268 for the match and out-blocked UCO (11-8), 8-5, in earning its second consecutive win. Sharpe's 17 kills came on just 26 total attempts, while Radix's 11 came coupled with a .435 hitting mark of her own. Radix came through in the clutch, tallying the team's final four kills in the fourth set, helping the squad overcome a 21-20 deficit and win the frame by three.

Abby Moser logged a match-high 24 digs for a Bulldog unit that out-dug the Bronchos, 82-71, while Molly Sinclair dug a career-high 22 UCO attacks to go with nine kills of her own. Brak notched her second straight – and fourth out of the last six matches – double-double, tacking on 13 digs.

Then, in the finale, Truman rode a 15-kill, 21-dig effort by Brak and a 13-kill, 5-block outing by Sharpe to a 3-1 (-23, 22-25, 26-24, -18) victory against ACU.

The Bulldogs hit .248 and dug 90 ACU attacks in the four-set match, putting four players in double-figures on the defensive end. Moser added to her daily total with 27, while both Sinclair (18) and Meghan Zimmerman (10) chipped along the back line.

After the teams split the first two sets, Truman held on in a tight third set to take a 2-1 lead in the match. The 'Dogs then jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth, never surrendered the lead, and coasted to a seven-point win in the final frame.

Truman's aggressive serving and tight serve receive crippled the Wildcats (10-9), as the Bulldogs dealt 11 aces and held ACU ace-less.

The Bulldogs return to Kirksville on Wednesday (Oct. 5) night for a 7:00 pm showdown with No.7 Central Missouri in Pershing Arena.
