BOLIVAR, Mo. - - The Truman volleyball team hit a season-best .351, committing just nine attack errors, in a 3-0 (-15, -21, -17) sweep at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday night.

It was all about the Bulldog (14-9, 3-4 MIAA) middle hitters on offense, as juniors Megan Sharpe (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) and Emily Briseno (Lee's Summit, Mo., Lee's Summit West) combined for 20 kills on 26 total attempts with just two errors. Sharpe led all players with 12 kills and added four blocks, while Briseno's eight kills came paired with two blocks of her own.

The Bulldogs used long runs in all three sets to pull away from the Bearcats (8-14, 3-6 MIAA), using runs of 9-0 and 8-1 in the first set, a 9-1 mid-set rally in the second, and a 15-3 lengthy run in the third to put distance between the squads.

Three other Truman players, including senior Molly Sinclair (St. Louis, Mo., Ursuline Academy), junior Lauren Radix (Black Earth, Wis., Wisconsin Heights) and freshman Allie Brak (The Colony, Texas, The Colony), added six kills apiece, with Sinclair and Brak parlaying theirs into kill-dig double-doubles to lead the team defensively. Setter Kylie Easlon (Edmond, Okla., Edmond Santa Fe) led the way with 17 assists with Meghan Zimmerman (Papillion, Neb., Gross Catholic) adding 14, as the 'Dogs increased their output all night, ranging from 14 kills in the first set up to 17 in the final frame.

Truman returns home for four of its next five matches, starting this Friday and Saturday when Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State visit Kirksville. Friday night's 7:00 pm match against Missouri Southern has been designated as this year's “Dig Pink” match, as the Bulldogs will wear specially-designed pink jerseys to commemorate the evening.
