WARRENSBURG, Mo - - Freshman Allie Brak led all Bulldogs with ten kills, while junior Megan Sharpe added eight, but the Truman volleyball team came up short in 3-0 defeat at the University of Central Missouri on Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs (17-12, 6-7 MIAA) hit just .190 while allowing the seventh-ranked Jennies (22-4, 12-1 MIAA) to connect at a .367 clip. Neither team committed many errors, with Truman making just 12 and UCM just nine, but UCM had 49 team kills to Truman's 34, as UCM was led by Paula Harris' 17 kills.
Brak, Sharpe and junior Emily Briseno (seven kills) comprised most of the Truman offense, accounting for 25 combined kills. Freshman Abby Moser's 13 digs were a Bulldog high, with Brak coming up just shy of a double-double with eight digs of her own. Briseno added three blocks to her seven kills.
Truman returns to Pershing Arena on Friday night for Senior Night against Northwest Missouri. First serve is set for 7:05 pm following recognition of the squad's four seniors – Kylie Easlon, Erin Burmester, Johanna Ruff and Molly Sinclair.
