KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Freshman Allie Brak and senior Molly Sinclair posted kill-dig double-doubles, and junior Megan Sharpe hit .545 with 13 kills, as the Truman volleyball squad wrapped up the home portion of its 2011 season with a 3-1 (-9, -17, 19-25, -19) win against Southwest Baptist on Wednesday night.

Sharpe led all players with 17 points, putting down 13 kills and adding five blocks (one solo, four assist) to help the Bulldogs move to 19-13 overall, 8-8 in the MIAA. Brak led all players with 14 kills and added 17 digs, while Sinclair put away 11 kills and added 16 digs to help Truman outhit the Bearcats .296 to .146 on the night.

Truman hit .565 in a first set that saw the squad cruise to a 25-9 win before the home team pulled away late in the second to pick up a 25-17 decision heading into the intermission. Out of the break, though, SBU (11-20, 4-12 MIAA) hit .293 and held Truman to its lowest set mark of the night - .184 – and forced a fourth set with a 25-19 win.

The teams battled evenly at the outset of the fourth, but a mid-set 6-1 run for the Bulldogs opened up an 18-12 edge that the team wouldn't relinquish in earning the 25-19 fourth set edge.

For the match, Truman sided-out at a 69% rate to just 51% for SBU. Both senior Kylie Easlon and freshman Meghan Zimmerman were effective in all three areas, combining for five kills, handing out 48 assists and recording a total of 19 digs. Freshman Abby Moser became Truman's all-time single-season digs leader with a 27-dig effort – the 18th outing with 20 or more digs for the libero. Her season total of 665 passed Whitney Boehler's previous single-season top mark of 653, set in the 2008 season.

Truman will hit the road for its final two regular season matches of the year this weekend when it heads to Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. The Bulldogs will take on the MSSU Lions on Friday night at 7:00 pm in Joplin.
